Recently, a report from reliable Ming-Chi Kuo suggested that iPhone 14 front camera be upgraded because some new companies will supply it.
Apple Might Still Use Display From BOE
According to a market research agency, Omdia’s latest report (via ITHome), Apple might be planning to fit the latest LTPS and LTPO OLEDs from all old suppliers in the upcoming iPhone 14. The upcoming iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max OLEDs will be manufactured by BOE, Samsung, and LG Display. Besides, a month ago, some reports suggested that Apple had sealed the deal with BOE, and it will now go with Samsung and LG, but now it is still ready to get a display from BOE and do the same as iPhone 13. BOE company will supply the display for the base models of the iPhone 14, and the LG and Samsung will go for the other left models, but LG will mainly supply the Pro models display. Interestingly, I don’t know why these reports call iPhone 14 Max as iPhone 14 Plus, which is the replacement for a mini version. After research, I didn’t get such information that iPhone 14 Max will be a Plus. Besides, we already know that iPhone 14 Pro models will feature a new notch design, a punch hole for the camera, and a pill-shaped cutout. As the report stated, display panel supplies are divided into two. First, LTPS will contain the same old-designed notch display for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max/Plus, and second, a new notch-designed display for the iPhone 14 Pro & Pro Max. According to Omdia’s report, these same companies will also provide the display for the following year’s iPhone 15 models.
