According to the executive of the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi, Lei Jun, this is the first time that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has sent so many units in a single month. By way of comparison, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has managed to ship a total of 23.2 million units in the second quarter of 2017, which placing the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi in fifth place in terms of shipments of smartphones worldwide.

It appears that the Indian market played a significant role as 10 percent of the phones shipped in September were sold for two days in the South Asian country.
