Even Sony has already introduced its next-generation PlayStation VR2 headset with its first look, but now it has officially confirmed some details about its playable games, so let’s discuss them below.

PlayStation VR2 To Provide Truly Next-Generation VR Experience

All these details have come out from the latest episode of the Official PlayStation Podcast, where the guest was Hideaki Nishino, who is the senior vice president of the PlayStation VR2 platform experience. Hideaki clearly said, “the PS VR2 headset does not offer backward compatibility,” which confirms that the users of PlayStation VR2 can’t play the PlayStation VR’s original games on it. The reason for that seems very clear because the PlayStation VR1 headset came six years ago, in 2016, and as of now, it is very old to this upcoming new hardware. Besides, it is also a disappointment. And on this, Hideaki also explained that it is “because PS VR2 is designed to deliver a truly next-generation VR experience. PS VR2 has much more advanced features“. After waiting for so many years, it’s common that PlayStation VR2 will provide you with a truly Next-Generation VR experience with the new features and integration of new products such as a newly announced controller. Let’s get back to the PS VR2 announcement that Sony made a month ago, where it hinted that there are around 20 games on the list for this new hardware. But till its launch, we can only expect 10 games, including the VR versions of Resident Evil Village, Horizon Call of the Mountain, and the popular action-adventure survival game No Man’s Sky.

Availability

Its launch date is still a mystery for us, but with its announcement, the company has revealed that it is coming in early 2023. Let me know what your thoughts are about it in the comment section.
